This course presents methodology based on a modular concept for planning, designing, and construction. This course establishes the minimum consistent design/construction practices and references according to methodology, as well as general and specific design requirements for facilities. Sanitary drainage systems and storm drainage systems is also discussed. The material is based on the Plumbing Design Manual.

At the conclusion of this course, the learner will have a better understanding of potable water plumbing systems, as well as an understanding of the following topics:

• Plumbing design criteria and natural gas/fuel gas systems
• Details of plumbing fixtures, faucets, fittings, and equipment
• Domestic hot water systems and general piping design guidelines
• Prevention and control of Legionella disease in buildings
• Details of specialty traps, interceptors and separators
